I've been on my first tour with the flying seagulls and it's been fantastic! So much joy and laughter shared with the kids and it's so inspiring to be around such a talented team of highly skilled clowns, performers and musicians!!
First we went to a refugee center where the children barely spoke Norwegian or English and I got a taste of why the “seagull language” is so expressive and international. Then we went to Sommerblå festival to earn money for the trips to refugee camps abroad and we went there with our beautiful “blåmåka” bus which we also performed on!!
Isn't this amazing?? Read more about the work of the flying seagulls here: https://www.theflyingseagullproject.com/no
The drop . being on time
I don't like being late, I don't like being stressed out and in a hurry, yet I put myself in this situation so often! Now at the start of this tour I managed to miss my local train and had to pay an expensive taxi. And this has happened so many times and I wonder why? I know that I enjoy having more time than I need so I can read or check my email or meditate or juggle while I wait yet somehow I end up pushing the limit way too often until I end up missing something important to me.
The process goes like this: I tell myself “I have to leave/wake up/finish training at 7”
*It's 7 o clock*
“I can stay for 10 more minutes if I run”
or
“Oh well it's fine if I'm a little late”
and then I live in a world of denial because I know I'd rather be on time but I have resistance towards changing environment, changing activity etc so I justify continuing what I'm currently doing. I like to stay for a long time with the same activity. I like to think it's the ‘grindy’ part of me which I also use to my benefit for learning skills like juggling. As long as I show up to training I'm going to have a good & long session.
Thanks for reading Insightful Drops 🧡 share it with someone who deserves it!
